A festive and delicious holiday recipe for homemade cranberry sauce.
Ingredients

- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 orange, zested and juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Rinse the cranberries under cold water and remove any stems or damaged berries.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water, sugar, and orange juice. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Add the cranberries and orange zest to the saucepan. Return to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
- Stir in the ground cinnamon and remove from heat.
- Let the sauce cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
- This sauce can be made a few days in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your taste.
- For a twist, add chopped nuts or dried fruits.
