A simple and delicious recipe for making homemade strawberry pop tarts, perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack.

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 cup strawberry jam
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in cold water until the dough comes together.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into rectangles.
- Place a spoonful of strawberry jam on half of the rectangles.
- Top with the remaining rectangles and seal the edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk to make icing and drizzle over cooled pop tarts.
Notes
- Feel free to use any fruit jam of your choice.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- These pop tarts can be frozen for later use.
