Description

Ingredients

  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the whole wheat flour, rolled oats, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the brown sugar and melted butter to the dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Gradually stir in the buttermilk until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough gently on a floured surface for a few minutes.
  6. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet.
  7. Cut a cross on the top of the loaf to allow it to rise.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
