- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 225 g cream cheese, softened
- 100 g shredded sharp cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack
- 60 g sliced jalapenos, fresh or pickled
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Dipping sauces as needed (such as ranch, sriracha mayo, or honey mustard)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, sliced jalapenos, and garlic powder in a bowl.
- Mix until smooth and fully incorporated.
- Roll out thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of 6 mm.
- Cut into strips approximately 5 cm wide.
- Place a generous spoonful of cheese filling onto one half of each pastry strip.
- Fold the pastry over to enclose the filling.
- Gently twist each strip to form a spiral.
- Arrange the twists on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg to promote even browning.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes or until twists are puffed and golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
- Present with your choice of dipping sauces.
Notes
You can prepare the twists ahead of time and store them in the fridge until you’re ready to bake.
