- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, 1/2 cup ketchup, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, thyme, and oregano.
- Mix until well combined and shape into a loaf.
- Place the meatloaf in a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and 1/4 cup ketchup for the glaze.
- Spread the glaze over the meatloaf.
- Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider adding chopped bell peppers or mushrooms to the meat mixture.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or a side salad for a complete meal.
