Description

A comforting Korean soup blending tender beef and vibrant ingredients, perfect for chilly nights.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef (brisket or chuck), thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, sliced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 2-3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1-2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 1 cup radish, sliced (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)


Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot with sesame oil over medium heat. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned.
  2. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger, and sauté until softened.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and water, then add the soy sauce. Stir to combine.
  4. Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 30-40 minutes.
  5. If using, add the mushrooms and radish during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
