- 1 lb beef (brisket or chuck), thinly sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, sliced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 cups water
- 2-3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1-2 green onions, chopped
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 1 cup radish, sliced (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Instructions
- Heat a large pot with sesame oil over medium heat. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned.
- Add the onion, garlic, and ginger, and sauté until softened.
- Pour in the beef broth and water, then add the soy sauce. Stir to combine.
- Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 30-40 minutes.
- If using, add the mushrooms and radish during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
- Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
