Description

Delicious matcha sugar cookies topped with a fragrant lavender frosting, perfect for springtime treats.


Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons matcha powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 2 tablespoons dried lavender
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for frosting)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. While the cookies cool, prepare the lavender frosting by mixing powdered sugar, dried lavender, and milk until smooth.
  9. Once the cookies are completely cool, frost them with the lavender frosting.
