Description
Delight in the comforting taste of homemade Mexican donuts, also known as buñuelos, that bring family together with their pillowy texture and sweet cinnamon-sugar coating.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for dusting)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Mix in a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Add add milk and egg; stir until a soft dough forms.
- Heat heat vegetable oil in a pot to about 350°F (175°C).
- Roll roll out the dough to half an inch thick and cut out donut shapes.
- Fry fry each donut in hot oil until golden brown, about two minutes per side.
- Remove remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and toss in cinnamon-sugar while warm.
Notes
For a healthier alternative, use sugar substitutes for people with diabetes. Ensure the oil reaches the correct temperature for perfect frying.
