Description

Delicious Mexican fish tacos topped with zesty lime crema, ready in just 30 minutes for a flavorful meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb White Fish Fillets (Cod, Mahi-Mahi, or Tilapia)
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream (or Greek yogurt)
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 2 limes (juice and zest)
  • 1 clove Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Cilantro
  • 2 cups Shredded Cabbage
  • 1 cup Shredded Carrots
  • 1/2 cup Red Onion
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 8 pieces Corn or Flour Tortillas
  • Optional Toppings (Avocado slices, hot sauce, or pickled onions)


Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Pat the fish fillets dry and place them on a plate.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the fish.
  4. Sprinkle chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using) over the fish.
  5. Rub the spices evenly into the fish fillets.
  6. Place the seasoned fillets in the hot skillet.
  7. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Remove the fish from the skillet and allow it to rest.
  9. In a bowl, combine sour cream (or Greek yogurt), mayonnaise, zest and juice of limes, and minced garlic.
  10. Whisk the mixture until smooth and creamy.
  11. Add chopped fresh cilantro to the crema.
  12. Mix well and set aside.
  13. Warm the corn or flour tortillas in the skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
  14. Assemble the tacos with shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, and sliced red onion.
  15. Flake the cooked fish on top of the vegetables.
  16. Drizzle the zesty lime crema over each taco.
  17. Top with additional cilantro or optional toppings as desired.
  18. Serve immediately and enjoy the burst of flavors!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. For longer storage, freeze the fish separately for up to a month.
