Delicious Mexican fish tacos topped with zesty lime crema, ready in just 30 minutes for a flavorful meal.

- 1 lb White Fish Fillets (Cod, Mahi-Mahi, or Tilapia)
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil (or vegetable oil)
- 1 tbsp Chili Powder
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper (optional)
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream (or Greek yogurt)
- 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 2 limes (juice and zest)
- 1 clove Garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp Fresh Cilantro
- 2 cups Shredded Cabbage
- 1 cup Shredded Carrots
- 1/2 cup Red Onion
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 8 pieces Corn or Flour Tortillas
- Optional Toppings (Avocado slices, hot sauce, or pickled onions)
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Pat the fish fillets dry and place them on a plate.
- Drizzle olive oil over the fish.
- Sprinkle chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using) over the fish.
- Rub the spices evenly into the fish fillets.
- Place the seasoned fillets in the hot skillet.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove the fish from the skillet and allow it to rest.
- In a bowl, combine sour cream (or Greek yogurt), mayonnaise, zest and juice of limes, and minced garlic.
- Whisk the mixture until smooth and creamy.
- Add chopped fresh cilantro to the crema.
- Mix well and set aside.
- Warm the corn or flour tortillas in the skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
- Assemble the tacos with shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, and sliced red onion.
- Flake the cooked fish on top of the vegetables.
- Drizzle the zesty lime crema over each taco.
- Top with additional cilantro or optional toppings as desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the burst of flavors!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. For longer storage, freeze the fish separately for up to a month.
