- 4 small onions
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Peel the onions and cut a small portion off the top and bottom.
- Soak the onions in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Remove onions from buttermilk and coat them in the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the onions until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve with creamy buttermilk ranch dip.
Notes
- For a spicier dip, add hot sauce to the ranch mixture.
- Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying for a crispy texture.
