Description

Delicious Mini Cheese Danish featuring a flaky puff pastry and creamy cheese filling, perfect for brunch or a sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package Puff Pastry (store-bought)
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar (can substitute with sugar alternative)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract (use pure extract for best flavor)
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice (optional)
  • 1 beaten Egg (can be replaced with milk)
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar (no direct replacement)
  • 1 tbsp Milk (dairy-free options available)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Thaw the puff pastry according to package instructions and unfold it on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Roll out the pastry gently to smooth out any creases and then cut it into squares, about 3×3 inches.
  4. Combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice in a mixing bowl. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  5. Place 1-2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each square of puff pastry.
  6. Fold up the corners of the puff pastry squares towards the center, pinching to seal. Brush the tops with the beaten egg or milk.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.
  8. Mix powdered sugar and milk together in a separate bowl to create a smooth glaze. Drizzle it over the hot Mini Cheese Danish once they cool slightly.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. Freeze baked danishes in a single layer for up to 2 months.
