Description
Delicious Mini Cheese Danish featuring a flaky puff pastry and creamy cheese filling, perfect for brunch or a sweet treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package Puff Pastry (store-bought)
- 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar (can substitute with sugar alternative)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract (use pure extract for best flavor)
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice (optional)
- 1 beaten Egg (can be replaced with milk)
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar (no direct replacement)
- 1 tbsp Milk (dairy-free options available)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Thaw the puff pastry according to package instructions and unfold it on a lightly floured surface.
- Roll out the pastry gently to smooth out any creases and then cut it into squares, about 3×3 inches.
- Combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice in a mixing bowl. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Place 1-2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each square of puff pastry.
- Fold up the corners of the puff pastry squares towards the center, pinching to seal. Brush the tops with the beaten egg or milk.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk together in a separate bowl to create a smooth glaze. Drizzle it over the hot Mini Cheese Danish once they cool slightly.
