Description

A classic comfort food from Minnesota, this Tater Tot Hotdish combines ground beef, vegetables, and creamy soup topped with crispy tater tots.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (frozen or fresh)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 bag (32 oz) tater tots
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the meat is cooked through.
  3. Stir in the mixed vegetables, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Top with tater tots in a single layer.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
