- 1 small head Cabbage (cut into thick slices)
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (for brushing)
- 1 pound Ground Beef or Turkey (or ground chicken or plant-based options)
- 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 large Egg (optional, for binding)
- 1 cup Cheese (for sprinkling on top)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the thick cabbage slices with olive oil, ensuring both sides are coated.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and egg (if using). Mix until well combined.
- Take a portion of the meat mixture and form patties. Place them on top of the cabbage slices on the baking sheet.
- Sprinkle cheese generously over each patty.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the cheese is melted bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
