A delicious fusion of a classic patty melt and pizza, perfect for a unique meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4 slices of rye bread
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Add the sliced onions to the skillet and cook until they are caramelized.
  3. Spread butter on one side of each slice of rye bread.
  4. On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer the cooked beef, onions, and cheddar cheese.
  5. Top with the other two slices of bread, buttered side up.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwiches until golden brown on both sides and the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from the skillet and cut in half. Serve with pizza sauce for dipping.
