A delicious recipe for a perfectly roasted prime rib with a pepper and parmesan crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (5-7 lb) prime rib roast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Rub the prime rib roast with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Press the grated Parmesan cheese onto the surface of the roast to form a crust.
  4. Place the roast in a roasting pan and insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the meat.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue cooking until the desired doneness is reached.
  6. Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C).
  • Letting the roast rest is crucial for juicy meat.
  • Pair with your favorite sides for a complete meal.
