Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint bark
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In a saucepan, heat milk and butter until warm, then add to the dry ingredients.
  3. Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and sprinkle with crushed peppermint bark.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices.
  8. Place the slices in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
  10. Mix powdered sugar and milk to create icing and drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

  • For a stronger peppermint flavor, add a few drops of peppermint extract to the dough.
