Description

A delicious and traditional Persian dish featuring marinated meat skewered and grilled to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs lamb or beef, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 large onion, grated
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Skewers (metal or soaked wooden)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine grated onion, olive oil, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the meat cubes to the marinade and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated meat onto the skewers.
  5. Grill the skewers for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked to your desired doneness.
  6. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add bell peppers or onions to the skewers.
  • Serve with rice or flatbread for a complete meal.
