- 4 slices of bread
- 4 slices of cheese (mozzarella or your choice)
- 4 tablespoons pizza sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Olive oil or butter for grilling
- Optional toppings: pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, etc.
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- Take two slices of bread and spread pizza sauce on one side of each slice.
- Place a slice of cheese on the sauce-covered side of one slice, add any optional toppings, then top with the second slice of bread, sauce side down.
- Brush the outer sides of the sandwich with olive oil or butter.
- Place the sandwich in the skillet and grill until the bread is golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
- Flip the sandwich and grill the other side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
