Description

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 slices of cheese (mozzarella or your choice)
  • 4 tablespoons pizza sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Olive oil or butter for grilling
  • Optional toppings: pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, etc.


Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Take two slices of bread and spread pizza sauce on one side of each slice.
  3. Place a slice of cheese on the sauce-covered side of one slice, add any optional toppings, then top with the second slice of bread, sauce side down.
  4. Brush the outer sides of the sandwich with olive oil or butter.
  5. Place the sandwich in the skillet and grill until the bread is golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
  6. Flip the sandwich and grill the other side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
