Instructions
- Peel the pears, leaving the stems intact.

- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Reduce the heat to low and add the pears to the saucepan.
- Cover and simmer for about 20-30 minutes, or until the pears are tender.
- Remove the pears from the liquid and let them cool.
- Serve the pears warm or chilled, drizzled with the poaching liquid.
