Ingredients

  • 1 cup of Gruyère cheese, shredded

  • 1 baguette, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the caramelized onions.
  3. Stir in the beef broth and thyme, and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the toasted baguette slices and top each with the onion mixture and shredded Gruyère cheese.
  6. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Season with salt and pepper before serving.
