Ingredients

- 6 pounds of apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon of allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon of cloves
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
Instructions
- Prepare the apples by peeling, coring, and slicing them.
- Place the sliced apples in the slow cooker.
- Add the sugars, spices, and lemon juice to the apples.
- Stir to combine all the ingredients well.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Once the apples are soft, use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
- Cook uncovered for an additional 1-2 hours to thicken the apple butter.
- Transfer to jars and let cool before storing in the refrigerator.
