A simple and delicious recipe for making apple pear butter in a slow cooker.

- 4 cups apples, peeled and chopped
- 4 cups pears, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Prepare the apples and pears by peeling and chopping them into small pieces.
- In the slow cooker, combine the chopped apples and pears.
- Add sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice to the fruit mixture.
- Stir everything together until well combined.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the fruit is soft and the mixture is thickened.
- Once cooked, use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
- Transfer the apple pear butter to sterilized jars and let it cool before sealing.
Notes
- Adjust the sugar according to your taste preference.
- This spread can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
- For a thicker consistency, cook longer with the lid off during the last hour.
