Instructions
- Place the beef roast in the slow cooker.
- Add sliced onion on top of the roast.
- Pour in the beef broth.
- Drizzle Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce over the mixture.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, black pepper, and salt on top.
- Cover the slow cooker with the lid.
- Set to cook on low for 480 minutes or high for 240 minutes, until the beef is tender.
- Remove the beef once cooked and shred it using two forks.
- Mix cornstarch with cold water to create a slurry.
- Stir the slurry into the cooking liquid in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on high for an additional 30 minutes to thicken the gravy.
- Lay the sliced bread on plates.
- Spoon the shredded beef and gravy over the bread.
- Serve with mashed potatoes on the side.
