Description

A flavorful and easy recipe for Hawaiian BBQ pulled beef made in a slow cooker.


Ingredients

  • 3-4 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 cup Hawaiian BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, beef broth, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours, until the beef is tender.
  5. Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks and mix it with the sauce.
  6. Serve the pulled beef on buns or over rice, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add some red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • This recipe can be doubled for larger gatherings.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
