Description

A delightful and easy-to-make Southern dessert featuring ripe bananas and a buttery cobbler topping.


Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced bananas and half of the sugar. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, mix the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  6. Evenly distribute the banana mixture over the batter.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.
