- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2–3 green chilies, slit
- 1 tablespoon curry powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies; cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.
- Mix in the curry powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt; cook for another minute.
- Add the chicken pieces and stir well to coat them with the spices.
- Cover and cook on low heat for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the chicken is cooked through, garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice or naan.
Notes
- Adjust the spice levels according to your preference.
- For a richer flavor, you can add coconut milk.
- This dish can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
