Description

A delightful combination of cheesy mozzarella and savory spinach dip, these Spinach Dip Mozzarella Sticks are a perfect crowd favorite appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 mozzarella sticks
  • 1 cup spinach (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Thaw and drain the spinach thoroughly if using frozen spinach. In a bowl, mix together the spinach, cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan, and shredded mozzarella. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Dip each mozzarella stick into the spinach mixture, coating it well.
  3. Roll the coated mozzarella sticks in breadcrumbs until fully covered.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, fry the sticks in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes each side.
  5. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For a healthier version, bake at 400°F for about 15-20 minutes instead of frying.
