Description

A delightful dessert combining the sweetness of strawberries with a rich chocolate shell.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 chocolate cake, baked and cooled


Instructions

  1. Macerate the strawberries by mixing them with sugar and letting them sit for about 30 minutes.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer.
  3. Remove from heat and add the chopped dark chocolate, stirring until smooth.
  4. Place the cooled chocolate cake on a serving plate.
  5. Pour the chocolate ganache over the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.
  6. Top the cake with the macerated strawberries.
  7. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

  • For a more intense chocolate flavor, use bittersweet chocolate.
