- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup strawberries, chopped
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2-3 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- Combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Heat the milk in a saucepan until warm, then add the butter, stirring until melted.
- Pour the warm milk mixture into the dry ingredients.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time until well combined.
- Gradually add the remaining flour, mixing until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until it doubles in size.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread softened butter over the dough.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon and brown sugar evenly over the buttered dough.
- Arrange the chopped strawberries on top of the sugar mixture.
- Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other.
- Cut the rolled dough into 12 equal slices.
- Place the slices cut-side up in a greased baking dish.
- Cover the dish with a towel and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until they are golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before preparing the icing.
- Whisk powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk together in a small bowl until smooth.
- Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor. You can freeze the rolls for later enjoyment.
