Instructions
- Wash the strawberries and hull them, then thoroughly dry.
- Whip the cream cheese on high until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
- Add the heavy cream, vanilla, and sugar and continue whipping on high until stiff peaks form, scraping down the sides as needed.
- Stir in lemon zest to combine.
- Spread a layer of cream mixture on each piece of bread.
- Arrange the strawberries on half of the bread slices, aligning the center berries for visual appeal.
- Add more strawberries to fill in the sides, ensuring cream fills the gaps.
- Top with more cream mixture, ensuring generous coverage.
- Place a slice of bread on top and gently press together.
- Score a line in a diagonal direction that aligns with the arranged center fruit.
- Wrap each sandwich tightly in plastic wrap and compress with a heavy item for 2 hours to set.
- Remove the plastic wrap and with a sharp serrated knife, start by cutting off the edges first.
- Finally, make your diagonal cut along the scored line.
