Description

A delicious homemade recipe for tender slow cooker French dip sandwiches that are perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 34 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
  2. Add the sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the roast.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Sprinkle the thyme and black pepper over the mixture.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender.
  6. Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks and mix it with the juices.
  7. Serve the shredded beef on hoagie rolls topped with provolone cheese.
  8. Optional: Broil the sandwiches for a few minutes to melt the cheese.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add sliced jalapeños or sautéed mushrooms.
  • Serve with a side of au jus for dipping.
