  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the melted butter, eggs, and yeast mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Punch down the dough and divide it into small balls. Place them on a greased baking sheet.
  8. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Brush with melted butter before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter roll, increase the sugar to 1/2 cup.
  • These rolls can be frozen after baking for later use.
