- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook the chicken until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Gradually whisk in chicken broth and heavy cream, cooking until the sauce thickens.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the sauce over the top, and sprinkle with cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicier version, add jalapeños to the topping.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or a side salad for a complete meal.
