Description

A classic Irish dish made from potatoes, perfect for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups grated raw potatoes
  • 1 cup mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • Butter for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the grated raw potatoes and mashed potatoes.
  2. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt to the potato mixture and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
  4. Pour the milk and egg mixture into the potato mixture and stir until combined.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the skillet and flatten slightly.
  7. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  8. Remove from the skillet and keep warm while you cook the remaining batter.
