  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the minced beef over medium heat until browned.
  3. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and carrots, and cook until the vegetables are soft.
  4. Stir in the tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Roll out one sheet of puff pastry and place it in a pie dish.
  6. Pour the meat mixture into the pastry-lined dish.
  7. Cover with the second sheet of puff pastry and seal the edges.
  8. Make a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  9. Brush the top with the beaten egg.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
