  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • Sprinkles for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, then let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. For the ganache, heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until it just begins to simmer.
  9. Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth.
  10. Once the cookies are cool, dip the tops into the ganache and sprinkle with decorations if desired.
