- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- Sprinkles for decoration (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, then let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- For the ganache, heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until it just begins to simmer.
- Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth.
- Once the cookies are cool, dip the tops into the ganache and sprinkle with decorations if desired.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate for the ganache.
- Feel free to add nuts or other toppings to the cookies before baking.
