Description

A delightful blend of rich German chocolate cake and creamy cheesecake, perfect for dessert lovers.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate, melted
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, and granulated sugar.
  3. Add the softened butter, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in the melted chocolate until fully incorporated.
  5. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth, then add the powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  6. Pour half of the chocolate batter into each prepared cake pan.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the cheesecake mixture on top of the chocolate batter and swirl with a knife.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, frost with your favorite chocolate frosting if desired.
