Ingredients

- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, honey, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add olive oil and salt to the yeast mixture.
- Gradually add whole wheat flour, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
- Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a sweeter roll, add more honey to the dough.
- These rolls can be frozen after baking for later use.
- Experiment with adding herbs or spices for different flavors.
