- 4 medium apples
- 1 package of refrigerated pie crusts
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and core the apples.
- Roll out the pie crusts and cut into squares large enough to wrap around each apple.
- Place an apple in the center of each square.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, then fill the hollow of each apple with some of the mixture.
- Wrap the dough around each apple and seal, placing them in a baking dish.
- Heat water, butter, and remaining sugar and cinnamon in a saucepan until dissolved, then pour over the dumplings.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm, preferably with vanilla ice cream.
