Description

A delicious and flavorful fusion of marinated beef, fresh Thai basil, and vibrant vegetables wrapped in rice paper and pan-fried to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef (sirloin or flank steak)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small piece ginger, grated
  • 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
  • 1 cup julienned vegetables (carrot, bell pepper, cucumber)
  • Rice paper wrappers

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain.
  2. Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, vegetable oil, garlic, and ginger in a bowl.
  3. Marinate the sliced beef in the mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Prepare your workspace with a shallow dish of warm water.
  5. Dip a rice paper wrapper into the warm water, soaking until softened, about 10-15 seconds.
  6. Lay the softened wrapper on a flat surface.
  7. Place a few basil leaves in the center of the wrapper.
  8. Add a portion of marinated beef strips and a small handful of julienned vegetables on top.
  9. Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling.
  10. Roll away from you, tucking it tightly, to create a neat roll.
  11. Repeat the process for the remaining wrappers and filling.
  12. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  13. Add a drizzle of vegetable oil to the skillet.
  14. Cook the rolls for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  15. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.

Notes

Ensure the rolls are sealed tightly to prevent them from opening while cooking.
