Description

Delicious tarts filled with sweet caramelized onions and creamy goat cheese, perfect for gatherings or cozy nights in.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 4 ounces goat cheese, crumbled
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the onions and sugar, cooking until the onions are caramelized, about 20 minutes.
  4. Add balsamic vinegar and season with salt and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into squares. Place on a baking sheet.
  6. Top each square with the caramelized onion mixture and sprinkle with goat cheese.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden.
  8. Garnish with fresh thyme if desired and serve warm.
