Description

A comforting dish featuring chicken coated in a rich caramelized soy sauce, perfect for weeknight meals and family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a bowl.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then add to the pan.
  4. Cook chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until browned.
  5. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the chicken and allow it to simmer for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens and caramelizes.
  6. Serve the chicken over a bed of warm rice.

Notes

For a richer flavor, sear the chicken properly and let it rest after cooking. Use low-sodium soy sauce for a less salty dish.
