Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 beef patty
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Pickles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
  4. Cook the beef patty in the skillet until browned and cooked through.
  5. Place the cheddar cheese on top of the beef patty.
  6. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
  7. Flip the sandwich carefully and cook until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from skillet, add ketchup, mustard, and pickles if desired, then slice and serve.

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the beef patty with a veggie patty.
