Description

A delightful appetizer that blends fresh basil, creamy goat cheese, and zesty citrus flavors on crispy baguette slices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 baguette, sliced
  • 1 cup basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 4 oz goat cheese, softened
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, until golden.
  3. Combine in a food processor: basil, pine nuts, Parmesan, olive oil, lemon juice, orange zest, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth to make the pesto.
  4. Spread a layer of goat cheese on each toasted crostini.
  5. Top with a generous spoonful of citrus pesto.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use fresh ingredients and serve warm. Pesto can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to a week.
