Description

Hearty and comforting crockpot French dip sandwiches filled with tender beef and served with a savory dip.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 to 2 pounds of beef chuck roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hoagie rolls or French bread
  • Sliced provolone or Swiss cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
  2. Add sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the roast.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together beef broth, water, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the roast.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 480 minutes or until the beef is tender.
  5. Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks and return to the pot.
  6. Serve the shredded beef on hoagie rolls or French bread, topped with cheese if desired, and offer the au jus from the crockpot as a dip.

Notes

For a richer flavor, sear the beef before slow cooking and use quality beef broth for the best taste.
