Description

A comforting and hearty dish made with Polish sausage, sauerkraut, and potatoes, perfect for a slow cooker meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound Polish sausage, sliced
  • 1 can (14 oz) sauerkraut, drained
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. In the crockpot, layer the sliced Polish sausage at the bottom.
  2. Add the drained sauerkraut on top of the sausage.
  3. Layer the diced potatoes, chopped onion, and minced garlic over the sauerkraut.
  4. Sprinkle caraway seeds, salt, and pepper over the top.
  5. Pour the chicken broth over all the ingredients.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the potatoes are tender.
  7. Stir gently before serving to combine the flavors.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add some red pepper flakes.
  • This dish can be served with crusty bread for a complete meal.
