- 1 pound Polish sausage, sliced
- 1 can (14 oz) sauerkraut, drained
- 4 medium potatoes, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- In the crockpot, layer the sliced Polish sausage at the bottom.
- Add the drained sauerkraut on top of the sausage.
- Layer the diced potatoes, chopped onion, and minced garlic over the sauerkraut.
- Sprinkle caraway seeds, salt, and pepper over the top.
- Pour the chicken broth over all the ingredients.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the potatoes are tender.
- Stir gently before serving to combine the flavors.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add some red pepper flakes.
- This dish can be served with crusty bread for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
