- 1 cup dates, pitted
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Combine shredded coconut, coconut oil, and maple syrup in a bowl to form the base.
- Press the mixture into a lined baking dish to create an even layer.
- Blend the pitted dates with a little water until smooth to create the date caramel and spread it over the coconut layer.
- Freeze the dish for about an hour until firm.
- Cut into bars once set.
- Melt dark chocolate in a microwave or double boiler.
- Dip each bar into the melted chocolate and set on parchment paper to cool.
- Allow the chocolate to set before serving.
Notes
For sugar substitutes, consider using stevia, monk fruit, or allulose instead of maple syrup.
