Ingredients

- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh herbs (e.g., rosemary, thyme) for garnish
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let it sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
- Add flour, olive oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Punch down the dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet.
- Create dimples all over the surface with your fingers.
- Brush with olive oil, sprinkle minced garlic and parmesan cheese, and add fresh herbs.
- Let it rise for another 20 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
