Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh herbs (e.g., rosemary, thyme) for garnish


Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let it sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour, olive oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet.
  7. Create dimples all over the surface with your fingers.
  8. Brush with olive oil, sprinkle minced garlic and parmesan cheese, and add fresh herbs.
  9. Let it rise for another 20 minutes.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
