- 5 pounds of potatoes
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Garlic powder (optional)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks.
- Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add heavy cream, butter, salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using) to the potatoes.
- Mash until smooth and creamy.
- Transfer the mashed potatoes to a baking dish, and optionally sprinkle with chives.
