Description

A colorful and crunchy snack perfect for summer gatherings and national holidays, combining sweet candies and buttery popcorn.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cut into pieces)
  • 10 cups popped popcorn (freshly popped)
  • 1/4 cup red candies (mini M&Ms or candy-coated chocolates)
  • 1/4 cup white candies (mini M&Ms or candy-coated chocolates)
  • 1/4 cup blue candies (mini M&Ms or candy-coated chocolates)
  • 2 tbsp sprinkles (red, white, blue)

Instructions

  1. Set a large pot over medium heat and add the butter pieces. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the butter melts completely and begins to bubble, about 2 minutes.
  2. Pour the melted butter over the freshly popped popcorn in a large mixing bowl. Use a spatula to gently toss and coat all the popcorn evenly with the butter.
  3. Add the red, white, and blue candies to the coated popcorn. Fold them in gently, distributing the colorful candies evenly throughout the popcorn mixture.
  4. Transfer the popcorn mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread it out into an even layer using a spatula.
  5. Sprinkle the red, white, and blue sprinkles evenly over the top of the popcorn, gently pressing them down to help them adhere.
  6. Allow the popcorn to sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes, letting the butter set slightly and the flavors meld. Once cooled, break into clusters if needed and serve.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider using sugar-free alternatives like stevia or monk fruit. Make sure to use fresh popcorn for the best taste.
